In The News

The Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home Family is proud to be a part of Bloomfield and the surrounding communities.  We are also honored to support and be a part of several community activities.  These organizations maintain the community that so many of us call home.  Being a active part of many organizations, Nicholas Grillo has been honored by many.   We invite you to see some of the events below:

Humanitarian of the Year

In March of 2014, the Italian American Police Society of New Jersey, chose Nicholas J. Grillo as their 2014 Humanitarian of the Year.  Nick is currently an Associate Member of the organization. The event was held at the Fiesta in Wood Ridge and attended by nearly 275 people, 90 of which came in support of Nick.  It was truly a memorable evening.  For more information on this group please visit: www.IAPSNJ.org

Presidential Installation

In May of 2015, Nicholas J. Grillo was honored as the out going 51st president of the Hudson County Funeral Directors Association.  The HCFDA is the oldest Funeral Directors Association in the state of New Jersey, established in 1901.  This biennial event was held at the magnificent, Il Villaggio in Carlstadt.  It is a time honored event where funeral directors, vendors and industry leaders come together to install the new president and his board members.  It is one of the few ceremonious events that are held in conjunction with the Presidential installation in the State of New Jersey.

Read Across America Day

In May, Nick participated in Read Across America. NEA's Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss.  He read to several classes in the Jersey City Public School System.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On Thursday, June 11th the Suburban Essex Chamber of Commerce held a ceremonial Ribbon Cutting at the Funeral Home.  Although established 80 years, with a new owner and a tweak on the old name, a new celebration was in order.  Dozens of people attended the event which was followed by refreshments.

What's Next?

We are always looking to help our local community organizations.  If you represent a community group and are looking for a contribution or for us to pitch in and help with a fundraiser, feel free to call us.   Of course, we can not possibly contribute to everyone, but as we all know, it can't hurt to ask.  Also, if your organization would like to utilize the Funeral Home facility for meetings or seminars, we will be more than happy to offer them. Please contact us for more information.
